I had lost hope of ever going to school again after displacement. Through YACA’s support, I received sponsorship and returned to class. Today, I am preparing for my exams and dreaming of becoming a teacher to help other children.
My child was severely malnourished, and I feared losing him. YACA’s health team treated him and also taught me about nutrition and hygiene. Now, my children are healthy, and I share this knowledge with other mothers.
The conflict divided our community and left deep scars. YACA’s peace dialogues helped us sit together, talk, and forgive. I now believe peace is possible, and we are slowly rebuilding trust.

Youth Affairs Centre for Africa (YACA) is a legally registered humanitarian and development organization in South Sudan. Originally founded in 2015 as the Rural Youth Organisation Agency for Development (RYOAD), YACA was rebranded in April 2022 to reflect a broader mission of empowering young people and communities across Africa.
